Jason Thompson

Jason is the founder of the Legacy Forward Foundation. He holds bachelor’s degrees in both History and Political Science from Brigham Young University, as well as a Masters of Public Administration. Jason has been representing Cache Valley in the Utah State House of Representatives since 2024, and was previously the mayor of River Heights. He and his wife, Dana, are proud parents of six children, including two sets of twins, and are deeply committed to helping families and communities grow stronger.

Keegan Garrity

Keegan Garrity has served as a member of the Cache County Council since 2025, representing the south district in Logan. As the Sales & Marketing director for Apogee Instruments, he oversees international and domestic partnerships to promote the distribution of highly specialized environmental sensors. Keegan finds fulfillment through volunteer work including helping youth and those with special needs participate in sports and outdoor adventures. After graduating from Utah State in 2008, Keegan and his wife Martha started their family in Logan and, as of 2026, they are currently doing their best to raise four teenagers.

Dan Johnson

Dan is a retired educator who served for almost 50 years in public education. He's worked as a teacher, an administrator, director of the Edith Bowen Laboratory School at USU, and superintendent of the Tooele County School District. Most recently, Dan served as a Utah State House Representative from 2019-2024. His lifelong dedication to public service and education has made a lasting impact on students, families, and communities across the state. Dan holds EdD and EdS degrees from Argosy University and University of Nebraska-Lincoln, respectively.

Frank Schofield

Frank has worked in Public Education for over 25 years. He holds bachelors degrees in History teaching and Spanish teaching from BYU, as well masters degrees in ESL and Education Administration. He has served as a classroom teacher, coach, advisor, principal, and is currently Superintendent of the Logan City School District. Frank has dedicated his career to improving education and empowering teachers and students.

Bret Crane

Bret is an Associate Professor at the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at USU, and the Executive Director of the Covey Leadership Center. He holds a PhD in Business Administration from the University of Virginia, and an MBA and BA from BYU. Bret is an accomplished author and researcher focused on leadership mindsets, and has published articles in journals such as Harvard Business Review, Journal of Business Ethics, and Journal of World Business. He has consulted for clients including Coca-Cola, American Express, Honda, Lowe's, General Mills, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Biogen, USAA, and many others.

Ashley Fischer

Ashley is the co-owner of Connections Family Wellness and co-founder of the Living Legacy Charitable Foundation. She holds a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy, and bachelors of science in Family and Consumer Sciences and Human Sciences Communication from USU. As a proud mother of three daughters, Ashley is deeply committed to strengthening families and promoting emotional wellness. Her nonprofit is dedicated to bringing mental health health and physical/emotional wellness to our community, as well as building a mental urgent care program.

Brogan Searle

Brogan spent over a decade at Fox Marketing, beginning in accounting before becoming an entrepreneur and partnered with Fox to start multiple successful businesses. He holds an Accounting degree from Idaho State University and brings a strong financial and strategic foundation to his work. He is passionate about leadership development, he is committed to helping young people grow into confident leaders. As a husband and father of three, he is deeply invested in strengthening Utah’s education and future.

Dana Thompson

Dana is the devoted wife of Foundation founder Jason Thompson and a proud mother of six amazing children. Her leadership and service are rooted in her personal experiences and dedication to strengthening communities. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from Brigham Young University and has applied her passion for education and youth support throughout her volunteer work. Dana has been actively involved with the Parent-Teacher Organization since 2017 and has volunteered with Meals on Wheels for nearly five years, helping ensure nourishment and connection for homebound community members. She also supports student success throughout the Cache County School District by assisting with testing and educational initiatives. Additionally, Dana plays an active role in The Policy Project, helping elevate community involvement and awareness around key priorities.

Lyndsay Peterson

Lyndsay has served as the mayor of North Logan since 2022. As part of that role, she has been chair of the Cache Waste Consortium, vice chair of the Cache County Council of Governments, President of the Mayor’s Association, Chair of the North Park Police, and is on the board of directors of the Utah League of Cities and Towns. She also serves on the recreation and fire board of trustees, as well as the steering and executive committees. Prior to entering public service, Lyndsay was an environmental litigation attorney. Lyndsay has dabbled as Professor Peterson, teaching Law and Economics at USU. She plays volleyball every Monday night and otherwise tries to keep up with her husband Erik and her three kids.

Annie Winters

Annie serves as a board member of the Legacy Forward Foundation and brings nearly five years of executive support experience alongside a strong commitment to leadership development. She has worked closely with Jason Thompson as his Executive Assistant, first at Fox Pest Control and now within the Foundation, where she contributes to operations and supports mission-focused initiatives. Passionate about empowering others, Annie is currently studying Sociology at Utah State University. In her free time, she enjoys horseback riding, fishing, and exploring the outdoors.
